In this work, I picked up various of rubbish in a ruin and wrapped them in tape, and arranged them in a straight line. In this work I have tried to divide each piece of rubbish in two parts, the extreme symmetry (or in other words “absolute straightness") is what I am looking for. I grew up in a collectivism society in China. When I was in kindergarten, my teacher always asked us to set our shoes neatly at nap time, and all the children's shoes would form a very straight line in the room. As long as the shoes were not set straight, we could not sleep. So this behavior has cast a psychological shadow over me and I still have to set my shoes up neatly before I go to bed. The experience that Growing up in a collectivism environment in China has always made me want to strictly control my body to a certain standard in my life now, but unfortunately, as in this work, except in my mind, nature and culture can never be controlled
