SELF-CONSCIOUSNESS can be divided into five parts. Each part of this work has an image and a set of devices, which could only be achieved through the combination of my body and materials. I seek for a harmonious state of material and self via body language and sound.
The gloves hanging in the air, is the item that I try my best to “grab”, thus inside the gloves, my temperature remains. The video of pinching the mud is that I am manipulating the limbs of others to act some behaviors, using them as a tool. The silicone sleeve connects me and friends into an intimate relationship that gradually suffocate us. When I pull the tourniquet underwater, I don’t have to be afraid to hit my own hand. Three individuals circulated three glasses of water, and each person's saliva was mixed into my body. Body is a conscious tool in my work, assisting me to achieve conscious self-consciousness.
Self-consciousness represents a state of spontaneous and involuntary mentality. As my artistic vehicle, material carries an important mission; it connects the relationship between matter and my body. When the materials are reassembled and the body is also used as just a piece of material in front of the camera, the transformation of my personal artistic language is thus naturally formed.
